POSITION:
Registered Nurse

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
-BScN preferred.
-Current BCLS.
-Current certificate in Venipuncture.
-2 years recent RN experience.
-Knowledge and skill of wound care and enteral Feeding.
-Rehab experience.
-Stroke experience.
-Geriatric experience.
-Palliative experience.
-Satisfactory attendance.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES (Personal Skills and Attributes)
-Competence in principles of stroke care, anatomy and physiology of stroke, psychosocial, communication and functional effects of stroke, nutrition, cognition, perceptual and behaviour effects of stroke, continence and complications management, primary and secondary prevention and transition management.
-Able to work in an inter-disciplinary team setting
-Enjoys elderly patients and patients with disabilities
-Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and professional development
-Excellent assessment skills and decision making skills
-Strong leadership skills
-French language an asset
-Demonstrated ability to support and embrace the philosophy of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centred Care.
-Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.
-Demonstrated performance reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
-Provision of nursing care to meet Standards of Practice of College of Nurses
-Participation in various hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives
