ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-Secondary School Diploma
-Certificate of qualification for the Province of Ontario as a licensed Fourth Class Stationary Engineer or Certification in HMT (Hospital Maintenance Technician), or Building Operator Certification. Preference will be given for applicants with other related trade certification or license, including Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic, etc.
-Minimum of five (5) years mechanical experience working with heating, ventilating, air conditioning and related systems.
-Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and operation of HVAC systems with emphasis on the chemical treatment and operation of chilled water and heating systems.
-Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of DX cooling systems.
-Experience in the operation of Building Automation Systems.
-Blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
-Office automation (Word processing, e-mail & Excel spreadsheet) and associated computer skills.
-Training in Confined Spaces, Lock-Out, Health and Safety, Transportation of Dangerous Goods preferred.
-Personal transportation to provide service response for both campuses.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
-Operation and maintenance of facility mechanical rooms, including boilers, chemical treatment systems, softeners, condensate systems and deaerators, fire systems.
-Operation and maintenance of all HVAC equipment, including air handler inspections and maintenance, instrumentation and control calibration, filter maintenance, hot water heating systems and associated preventive maintenance duties.
-Responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of the facilities management system including the development of new schedules and the installation of controllers and instruments.
-Provide support to all departmental trades.
-Provide response-based maintenance service to all departments and patient areas.
-Participate in the maintenance, testing and operation of standby power systems
