ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- Current General Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certificate.
- Minimum three (3) years Occupational Health experience, hospital setting preferred.
- Occupational Health Certificate/Diploma required
- Experience as an N95 respirator fit tester at placement interviews
- Current Canadian Nurses Association certification in Occupational Health Nursing COHN (C) , or in progress, preferred
- Current Ontario drivers license
- Experience with Functional Abilities Forms, Modified/transitional Work Programs and Accommodation programs, in the workplace.
- Knowledge of legislations, regulations and standards pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety (i.e. Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations, Human Rights, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Public Hospitals Act -Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols
- Experience in pre-placement health assessments and immunization programs.
- Knowledge of workplace Infection Control Programs.
- Experience in developing and implementing wellness programs.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Parklane Health and Safety Program modules.
- Satisfactory attendance.

- Ability to maintain an accurate record keeping system and assist with the compilation of department statistics
- Skills in nursing Assessment and primary care of illness and injuries encountered in the workplace

- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate in-service health and safety programs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
-Participate in the Occupational Health programs through various activities, i.e., pre-placement and periodic assessments, first aid provision, various immunization programs including the annual influenza vaccination program, intake/referral counseling, attendance support, health promotion/wellness programs
- Conduct and support qualitative and quantitative N95 fit testing
- Participate in workplace incident investigation, as required
- Participate in various Communicable Disease Surveillance protocols.
- Development and provision of workplace wellness programs.
- Maintain current and accurate records
- Prepare and summit reports as directed
