AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Development Officer, Signature Events plays a key role contributing to the growth of the dynamic signature fundraising events at the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance ("CKHA") from both a tactical perspective and long term strategic planning perspective.

Fundraising: The key objectives for these events is to maximize fundraising opportunities, provide a platform for highlighting the Foundation/Hospital brand, and develop relationships with sponsors, donors, internal stakeholders, and volunteers in support of CKHA.

Community Awareness: Events and Sponsorship are an integral part of the Foundation's community awareness. This position will work collaboratively with the Manager of Marketing & Communications to develop a marketing plan to highlight our Signature Events and attract new donors.

Integration: As part of the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's strategy of integration, this position will also work with the Foundation team to provide opportunities through events to facilitate relationship building, and fundraising with donors and prospects.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a professional setting with experience in project/event management, fundraising, sponsorship, sales and marketing. - Experience in managing multiple projects in a fast paced, time constrained environment.
- Experience in budget forecasting and tracking outcomes.
- Knowledge of philanthropic community.
- Computer experience and proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Email.
- Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge is preferred.
- Understanding of graphic design software an asset.

- Ability to assess situations to determine importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely, and in the best interest of the Foundation and CKHA.
- Strong background in managing volunteers and working in a team environment.

Functions/Duties:
Events Strategy:
- Responsible for the implementation, execution, and evaluation of all of the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's events.
- Work with Manager of Development to develop and implement new and innovative concepts and refresh Signature Events completing evaluations that include market feasibility research.
- Create detailed strategic business plans for events.
- Manage event budgets, including projections, expenditures and final financial reporting working closely with the Finance Administrator.
- Develop critical paths, event schedules, and site set-up plans ensuring quality in the execution of fundraising events, and integration with Foundation Team.
- Develop donor and vendor recognition benefits in conjunction with sponsor recognition benefits.
- Conduct post event evaluations, feedback sessions, and present analysis to senior leadership.
- Develop in conjunction with the Manager of Marketing & Communications, a marketing and communications strategy.
- Work collaboratively with media partners and the Manager of Marketing and Communications to provide feedback on design and implementation of event marketing strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the Foundation team to increase attendance at Signature Events.

Volunteer Leadership:
- Lead recruitment, orientation, training, and recognition of volunteers.
- Manage and facilitate event staff.

Fundraising and Sponsorship:
- Build relationships with key donors, prospects, and guests to attract financial donations, auction items, and sponsorship support.
- Solicit cash donations and GIK and manage those relationships.

Other Responsibilities:
- Act as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing CKHA and the Foundation.
- Work as a team player promoting a positive and professional work environment, conducting role with integrity and respect.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
- Abide by the policies and procedures of the Foundation and CKHA.
- Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor.
