ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-Requires a secondary school diploma.
-Current BCLS certification preferred.
-Minimum 1 year experience in a Patient Portering role required.
-Thorough knowledge of hospital layout and department locations required
-Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
-Safe transportation of patients to and from various areas within the hospital at both Chatham campuses.
-Assisting to transition patients to a safer surface (i.e. from wheelchair to chair or bed) when appropriate.
-transportation of medical and surgical supplies, equipment, specimens, requisitions, reports and other miscellaneous items.
-Pick up and delivery x-rays, old charts and other patient care information to and from assigned areas.
-Participates on hospital committees as appropriate.
