AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Development Officer, Signature Events plays a key role contributing to the growth and success of the signature events portfolio at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation ("CKHAF") from both a tactical perspective and long term strategic planning perspective.

Fundraising - The key objectives for these events is to maximize fundraising opportunities, provide a platform for highlighting the Foundation/Hospital brand, and develop relationships with sponsors, donors, internal stakeholders, and volunteers in support of CKHA.

Volunteer Management - Effectively recruit, train, and manage a network of volunteers to support event execution needs, with a focus on delivering a high-quality and personalized event experience.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- Post-secondary degree in a related field required. A certification in a discipline such as fundraising or event management is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in an events, sponsorship, or fundraising role in a professional setting - non-profit sector preferred
- Experience in managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, time constrained environment
- Strong background in recruiting and managing volunteers to support event execution.
- Proven track record of sponsorship solicitation that has met or exceeded revenue goals.
- Computer experience and proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge is preferred.
- Knowledge of philanthropic community.

Functions/Duties:
Fundraising & Events:
- Responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of all Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation events that meet and exceed event
revenue goals.
- Work with Manager of Development to develop and implement new and innovative event concepts and refresh signature events, completing evaluations that
include market feasibility research.
- Create detailed strategic business plans and critical paths for Foundation events.
- Develop comprehensive sponsorship opportunities and effectively solicit sponsor participation to meet and exceed event sponsorship objectives.
- Develop critical paths, event schedules, and site set-up plans ensuring high-quality execution of fundraising events, and integration with Foundation team, volunteers, and event participants.
- Develop donor and vendor recognition opportunities in conjunction with sponsorship commitments and fulfillment.
- Solicit gift-in-kind donations to support live & silent auctions or other event needs.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, feedback sessions, and present analysis to senior leadership.
- Work with the Marketing & Community Relations Officer develop a strategy that will effectively promote signature events and sponsorship opportunities.
- Contribute to event webpage content and other communications to create awareness of signature events within the community
- Liaise with third party suppliers such as venues, d├ęcor companies, equipment rentals, etc.
- Work collaboratively with the Foundation team to increase attendance at Signature Events.

Volunteer Recruitment & Management:
- Conduct a volunteer needs assessment for all signature events and present the results as part of the annual signature events strategy and event critical path.
-Develop, implement, and lead a plan for volunteer recruitment that will support the identified volunteer needs for each event.
- Create a comprehensive volunteer orientation & training process to ensure volunteers are knowledgeable on CKHAF policies & practices, as well as event
plans and volunteer roles & responsibilities
- Manage and facilitate event volunteers throughout their full event experience (orientation, training, pre-event responsibilities, event day responsibilities, etc.)
- Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program to support retention and engagement of all Foundation volunteers
- Actively engage volunteers in CKHAF mission and continuously identify opportunities for event volunteers to further integrate within the Foundation's
programs and fundraising initiatives
- Represents CKHA Foundation within the community at various volunteer recruitment events when required, acting as a spokesperson for the Foundation,
participating as a guest or developing and delivering presentations.
- Work in collaboration with the Marketing & Community Relations Officer to identify opportunities to leverage the CKHAF Ambassador program to support
signature event volunteer needs.
- Establishes and maintains a wide network of external relationships with volunteers, community groups, or other organizations who support the Foundation
through donation of their personal time.
- Develops a compelling case for volunteers to engage with CKHAF and can effectively present the rationale for supporting CKHAF in a way that evokes
commitment

Other Responsibilities:
- Act as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing the Hospital and the Foundation.
- Work as a team player promoting a positive and professional work environment and conduct role with integrity and respect
- Other duties as assigned from time to time in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation
- Abide by the policies and procedures of the CKHA and CKHAF.
- Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor.
