ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
-1 year experience in an institutional healthcare setting.
-Knowledge in the identification and care of instruments and procedure trays.
-Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
-Knowledge and skill to maintain supplies and equipment.
-Ability to complete the required environmental cleaning.
-Excellent communication/time management/priority setting skills.
-Demonstrated knowledge of asepsis principles.
-Central Services Techniques Course preferred.
-Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
-Restocking and ordering supplies.
-Cleaning the area according to an established schedule.
-Preparation of rooms daily and in between patients.
-Report damage or breakage of instruments and equipment.
-Assists with portering duties as required.
-Performs other duties as assigned to assist nursing staff.
-Participates on hospital committees as appropriate.
